Lapworth Museum of Geology Archives Event
Thursday 26th January 2023, 10am-1pm
Location: Lapworth Museum, Earth Sciences Building
The Charles Lapworth archives at the Lapworth Museum have recently been catalogued by Rachel Brown, and the Museum is holding an event to introduce researchers to the kinds of materials it contains and to the online catalogue.
Lapworth’s archive contains a uniquely complete collection of geology teaching materials and notes from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as well as a vast quantity of juicy correspondence, which includes connections to famous figures like Constance Naden and Oliver Lodge. With the catalogue now completed using the archives will be a lot more intuitive, with plenty of scope for different research projects.
Attendance is free but booking is required, for which follow the link.
