{"id":2617,"date":"2023-06-05T10:09:55","date_gmt":"2023-06-05T09:09:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/bear\/?p=2617"},"modified":"2023-06-08T12:43:47","modified_gmt":"2023-06-08T11:43:47","slug":"anyone-links-file-sharing-for-onedrive-and-sharepoint-now-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/bear\/2023\/06\/05\/anyone-links-file-sharing-for-onedrive-and-sharepoint-now-live\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Anyone Links&#8217; file sharing for OneDrive and SharePoint now live"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Our &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/bear\/2022\/11\/08\/it-needs-of-active-research-survey-news-bear\/\">IT Needs of Active Research survey<\/a>&#8216; highlighted a common request from researchers to share documents with people outside the University and we are pleased to announce that &#8216;Anyone Links&#8217; are now available in Microsoft 365. \u2018Anyone Links\u2019 are for public facing information and data in OneDrive and SharePoint, and allow you to share documents with people outside the University e.g. a talk for a Conference. IT Services have provided some useful information below on how to use the new feature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OneDrive&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As a OneDrive user, you now have the power to choose your audience and control who sees your content. You can create different types of sharing links, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Anyone (with the link)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People in the organisation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People with existing access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People you choose (including external contacts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also review and manage your shared links effortlessly within OneDrive. Get started by checking out our user-friendly guide in the Knowledge Base article <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.bham.ac.uk\/kb16556\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KB16556<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, before sharing with &#8220;Anyone,&#8221; you should carefully consider whether the content is suitable for public use.
