The event was designed to give undergraduate students access to the support and technical knowledge of the BEAR team, and to promote a career path into the exciting world of HPC.

The teams worked together for 3 days, facing a series of practical, hands-on tasks, with opportunities for bonus points if they were feeling really keen! The challenges were both software and hardware-related, and included calculating the value of Pi on the BlueBEAR supercomputer, designing a HPC cluster, deep learning, high-speed networking, and running array jobs.

Based in the amazing space of the Main Library Training Room, the teams worked hard for their points (and huge amounts of pizza!), with great prizes for the winners supplied by Lenovo.
