How will today&#8217;s 8 year olds want to study in 2026 and what will they want to learn? How can we prepare for different futures to ensure we retain our position as a leading Global University?<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can you join the Big Futures Conversation?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are many different ways in which you can join the conversation. If you have any questions ask staff in your School or email a query to: <a href=\"mailto:bigconversation@contacts.bham.ac.uk\">bigconversation@contacts.bham.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Students (studying on and off campus) can engage:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Through your Reps and SEPOs\/SEOs\u00a0 &#8211; send your views to them or generate discussions in lectures<\/li>\n<li>Through the Guild who will be inviting contributions and holding events<\/li>\n<li>With academic staff in lectures and tutorials (next event, the 8th Feb, 4.30-6pm in the Guild- there will be cake!)<\/li>\n<li>Comment directly on existing posts on the Big Conversation website\u00a0 &#8211; just add your coments to a comments box and submit (there will be a short delay before it is visible on the site as there is a filter to verify the post is genuine before it appears) <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/bigconversation\/\">https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/bigconversation\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Twitter\/Facebook\/blog #UoBFutures<\/li>\n<li>Individual comments submitted by email <a href=\"mailto:bigconversation@contacts.bham.ac.uk\">bigconversation@contacts.bham.ac.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>VC seminars<\/li>\n<li>By entering our <strong>Student Futures Competition\u2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>THE STUDENT BIRMINGHAM FUTURES COMPETITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are inviting students \u2013 as individuals or groups &#8211; to enter a Futures Competition. Students are invited to:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Either<\/em><\/strong> write a thought-piece of up to 500 words (in any style you choose)<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Or <\/em><\/strong>create an e-poster, infographic or video.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Title:<\/strong> \u2018A Futures Curriculum for the University of Birmingham\u2019<\/p>\n<p><em>The aim is to construct an innovative and compelling \u2018Futures\u2019 vision that can inform the way we should design our university education and\/or the curriculum for 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prizes: \u00a0<\/strong>There are significant prizes for most creative and forward thinking contributions from students in each of the five Colleges (\u00a3500 per winner, per College).
