Employers may increasingly demand a more generic type of health care practitioner who has transferable skills to be used in different environments.<\/p>\n
For healthcare professions, many learning outcomes are likely to be similar (led by the professional bodies). Caring health professionals with specific interpersonal skills will still be needed.<\/p>\n
However, students will likely learn less factual knowledge and more around generic\/transferable \u2018skills\u2019 and \u2018behaviours\u2019 including confidence, leadership, entrepreneurship, problem solving, and critical evaluation.<\/p>\n
Although there will be an increased emphasis on skills such as the ability to find information rather than having a particular body of knowledge and understanding, it will not be possible for universities to focus on this alone.
