{"id":142,"date":"2018-04-20T15:43:45","date_gmt":"2018-04-20T14:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/caregivingblog\/?p=142"},"modified":"2018-04-20T15:55:49","modified_gmt":"2018-04-20T14:55:49","slug":"nhs-englands-new-guide-advanced-care-planning-for-people-with-dementia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/caregivingblog\/2018\/04\/20\/nhs-englands-new-guide-advanced-care-planning-for-people-with-dementia\/","title":{"rendered":"NHS England&#8217;s new guide: Advanced Care Planning for people with dementia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-146 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/caregivingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2018\/04\/NHS_ACP.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"732\" height=\"411\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/England.nhs.uk\">NHS England\u2019s<\/a> Dementia Team have just published their new guide <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/publication\/my-future-wishes-advance-care-planning-acp-for-people-with-dementia-in-all-care-settings\/\"><strong>My Future Wishes: Advance Care Planning (ACP) for people with dementia in all care settings<\/strong>.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>NHS England developed the guide, in response to the \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/prime-ministers-challenge-on-dementia-2020\/prime-ministers-challenge-on-dementia-2020\"><i>Dementia Challenge 2020<\/i><\/a>\u00a0which maintains that &#8220;<em>By 2020 we would wish to see\u2026 All people with a diagnosis of dementia being given the opportunity for advance care planning.<\/em>&#8221;\u00a0In the view of NHS England the ACP is &#8220;<em>fundamental for everyone living with dementia.
