The Urban Lab Camp is a forum to discuss and propose solutions for urban problems. Over six days city stakeholders gather and engage in a dialogue at the intersection of aspects of city life with young professionals and researchers. This year\u2019s topic is the de-carbonisation of mobility.<\/li>\n<li>On 21st March, Anne Green gave an invited presentation at a Workshop on \u2018Where next for research on active labour market policy and employability support programmes?\u2019 organised by the People, Organisations and Work Institute, De Montfort University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><strong>Media engagements<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Dr Abigail Taylor, Professor Anne Green and Gina Coe had an article entitled \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgovernmentforum.com\/investing-in-infrastructure-best-practice-from-bilbao-to-new-south-wales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Investing in infrastructure: best practice from Bilbao to New South Wales<\/a>\u2019 published in the Global Government Forum. The article was based on a report they recently published in conjunction with CIPFA \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cipfa.org\/cipfa-thinks\/insight\/addressing-regional-inequalities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Investing in infrastructure \u2013 enabling fairer growth<\/a>\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Professor Simon Collinson was quoted extensively in a Times Higher article by John Morgan on 7th March: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/news\/uk-regional-innovation-pilots-should-shun-silicon-valley-myth#:~:text=Plans%20to%20create%20three%20UK,%2DSilicon%20Valley%20%E2%80%9Cmyth%E2%80%9D.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UK regional innovation pilots \u2018should shun Silicon Valley myth<\/a>\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><strong>Reports \/ publications released <\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Dr\u00a0Matt Lyons, Saad Ehsan and Professor Ortega-Argiles have published a report on &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/documents\/college-social-sciences\/business\/research\/city-redi\/projects-docs\/meeo-auto-report-v4sm.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Economic Impact of Brexit and Covid-19 on the Midlands Automotive Sector<\/a>&#8221; as part of the Midlands Engine Economic Observatory research insights series.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><strong>Look ahead to the coming months\u2026<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Professor Raquel Ortega-Argiles will be giving a seminar on Levelling up and international trade to the UK\u00a0Department of International Trade on the 18th of May.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Events \u2013 Presenting work \/ Speaking engagements On 24th February, Matt Lyons presented at an LGA Roundtable &#8211; the role of Combined Authorities in supporting the creative industries &#8211; levelling up and economic development session.
