{"id":18513,"date":"2022-07-20T08:00:48","date_gmt":"2022-07-20T07:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/cityredi\/?p=18513"},"modified":"2022-07-20T08:06:21","modified_gmt":"2022-07-20T07:06:21","slug":"university-industry-relationships-facilitated-the-case-of-greater-birmingham-and-solihull-local-enterprise-partnership-growth-hub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/cityredi\/university-industry-relationships-facilitated-the-case-of-greater-birmingham-and-solihull-local-enterprise-partnership-growth-hub\/","title":{"rendered":"University-Industry Relationships Facilitated: The Case of Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership Growth Hub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18607\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/cityredi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/07\/University-Industry-Relationships-Facilitated-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/cityredi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/07\/University-Industry-Relationships-Facilitated-4.png 900w, https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/cityredi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/07\/University-Industry-Relationships-Facilitated-4-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/cityredi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/07\/University-Industry-Relationships-Facilitated-4-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/cityredi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/07\/University-Industry-Relationships-Facilitated-4-250x167.png 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/p>\n<pre>Our newly released report discusses how business support offered by regional universities is facilitated by a local partner, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbslepgrowthhub.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) Growth Hub<\/a>.\r\n\r\nThe report aims to demonstrate how close links between regional economic development bodies and anchor institutions, such as universities, helps to support businesses in the GBSLEP area.<\/pre>\n<p>The in-depth analysis of GBSLEP Growth Hub data from October 2019 to July 2021 shows the following results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Between October 2019 and July 2021, 1428 <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/cityredi\/business-support-referrals-to-regional-universities-by-the-gbslep-growth-hub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">businesses<\/a> contacted GBSLEP Growth Hub for support.<\/li>\n<li>GBSLEP Growth Hub referred 396 of those to regional universities (Aston University, Birmingham City University, Coventry University, Keele University, Staffordshire University, University College Birmingham, University of Birmingham, University of Warwick, University of Wolverhampton).<\/li>\n<li>The majority of referrals (81.6%) were made to specific business support programmes within these universities.
