Rebecca Riley then presented to both the Midlands Engine Observatory Programme Board on the LPIP programme and opportunity for the Midlands, followed by the University of Birmingham Research Leaders Forum on the importance of Place.<\/li>\n<li>On 29 February, City-REDI held its first academic seminar of the year with Dr Lucy Natarajan (UCL).<\/li>\n<li>On 1 March \u2013 Rebecca Riley took part in Localis Policy Workshop: &#8220;Design for Life &#8211; the smart journey to regeneration by 2030&#8221; | Finance and implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Reports\/publications released<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Champion, T., Green, A., &amp; Kollydas, K. (2024). <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1002\/psp.2757\">The gainers and losers from the United Kingdom&#8217;s university-related migration: A subregional analysis of Graduate Outcomes Survey data<\/a>. <em>Population, Space and Place<\/em>, e2757.<\/li>\n<li>CIPFA published Taylor A, Read J, Green, A and Matsu J (2024)<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cipfa.org\/cipfa-thinks\/insight\/addressing-regional-inequalities\"> Investing in Regional Equality \u2013 four English examples<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Policy Engagement<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>On 1 February, Abigail Taylor and Anne Green presented at a workshop for the Department for Work and Pensions on the In-Work Progression policy in London.<\/li>\n<li>On 7 February, Rebecca Riley attended the WMCA\/Universities strategy group, and both\u00a0Rebecca Riley and Fumi Kitagawa attended the innovation\u2013devolution working group with the WMCA.<\/li>\n<li>On 15 February, Hannes Read and Alice Pugh spoke at an Inclusive Growth and Placemaking co-commissioning roundtable at the Institute for Community Studies in London. The event was part of the National Civic Impact Accelerator research around the civic and economic impacts of universities.<\/li>\n<li>On 23 February, Anne Green chaired a panel at the \u2018Making Levelling Up Happen: Lessons from Europe\u2019 event at Aston University hosted by the Aston Centre for Europe with West Midlands Combined Authority.<\/li>\n<li>On 27 February, Rebecca Riley, Elizabeth Goodyear, Abigail Taylor and Anne Green attended a funder roundtable with UKRI, ESRC, AHRC and InnovateUK to discuss the LPIP programme and other place-based investments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Look ahead to the coming months\u2026<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>On 22 March, City-REDI will be taking part in an event with the NCIA and the NCCPE called &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/civicuniversitynetwork.co.uk\/civic-business-cases-event\/\">An Introduction to Developing Business Cases for Civic Engagement Projects.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Events \u2013 presenting work\/speaking engagements On 1 February, Rebecca Riley chaired the Green Book Network Steering Group.
