This event is\u00a0being held on the\u00a017th July 2018, 11:00 – 15:00<\/strong> in the Nettlefold Room, The Nicolson Building, Winterbourne House, 58 Edgbaston Park Road, Edgbaston, B15 2RT.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event is being organised by the Centre for Local Economic Strategies<\/a> in partnership with Barrow Cadbury Trust<\/a> and hosted by City-REDI,\u00a0University of Birmingham.<\/p>\n

Overview<\/h1>\n

Local wealth building is no longer an \u2018alternative\u2019 but a guiding principle of the new economic model and movement gaining momentum across the UK.<\/p>\n

This summit seeks to showcase, inspire and galvanise collaborative action on local wealth building.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging the focus on progressive procurement and the role of anchor institutions to date, this event aims to broaden the local wealth building agenda for the UK moving forward.<\/p>\n

It will explore pioneering examples from Preston, Birmingham and Manchester, among others while setting out the wider context and scale of what has been achieved elsewhere, and what is possible here.<\/p>\n
