Regional Productivity Differences, Skills and Inclusive Growth: Survey Findings<\/a><\/h6>\n

What do employers in the West Midlands think productivity is? What acts to constrain innovation in their businesses, do they struggle to find employees with the right skills and are their businesses embedded into the local region? Find out in our new survey of 300 businesses in the West Midlands. The survey is the first phase of a project looking into differences in regional productivity, with a particular focus on mismatches between the supply of and demand for specific skills. Additionally, it considers key trade-offs between productivity improvement and inclusive growth goals.<\/p>\n

Professional and Business Services Sector: Creating Further Demand and Growth Outside London<\/a><\/h6>\n

The UK\u2019s poor productivity performance continues to be of much debate in policy and research and is central to the development of the Industrial Strategy. This research focussed on how the Professional and Business Services (PBS) sector can contribute to Local Industrial Strategies and create growth both within the sector and be a driver of growth in other sectors. It takes our understanding of the sector beyond London and looks at what part it can play in redistributing wealth and helping to build strong places outside its traditional centre.<\/p>\n
