Local residents will have the chance to question the candidates standing for the Edgbaston seat in the General Election at our hustings taking place from 18:00 \u2013 19:30 on Tuesday 30 May<\/strong> in the Elgar Concert Hall, Bramall Music Building<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Following 20 years as the constituency\u2019s MP, Gisela Stuart (Labour) is stepping down from Parliament meaning Edgbaston will have a new Member of Parliament at the 2017 election. This event provides a great opportunity to hear from local candidates from across the political parties on local and national issues in the run up to the General Election.<\/p>\n

Joining us will be Prospective Parliamentary Candidates: Colin Green (Liberal Democrat), Alice Kiff (Green), Dick Rodgers (Common Good, Europe Needs Us), Caroline Squire (Conservative) and a representative of Preet Gill (Labour).<\/p>\n

Marc Reeves, Editor of the Birmingham Mail and Editor-in-Chief, Trinity Mirror Midlands, will moderate the event, which will be hosted by Professor Simon Collinson<\/a>, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Regional Economic Engagement at the University of Birmingham.<\/p>\n
