The CPR Spine PPIE Group meeting was held via Zoom on Friday 2nd July 2021. The meeting consisted of three presentations, each relating to a forthcoming grant application. Dr Alessio Gallina presented on ‘How do pain and movement influence each other?’, Dr Bernard Liew (a close collaborator from the University of Essex) presented on ‘Why do confident people recover quicker from back pain?’ and Dr David Evans presented on ‘Measuring pain over time.’ The presentations created much discussion within the Group and the applications benefited greatly from the important input from the PPIE Group members.
The last CPR Spine PPIE Group meeting was also held online via Zoom on Friday 8th October. We had a special guest presentation at the meeting: Professor Adrian Gardner, Consultant Spinal Surgeon and Research Lead at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. Prof. Gardner wanted to gain the opinion of our PPIE Group members on a forthcoming grant application for an important clinical trial on back pain.
