The weekend will be filled with events including the investiture at Westminster Abbey, a concert at Windsor Castle and the Coronation Big Lunch in communities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/media-library\/king-charles-coronation-what-to-say.png?id=33571956&amp;width=1200&amp;height=800&amp;quality=90&amp;coordinates=0%2C37%2C0%2C607\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The coronation service will, according to Buckingham Palace, \u2018reflect the monarch\u2019s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry\u2019. While the ceremony will reflect traditions from the many centuries of coronations gone by, King Charles has also chosen to introduce new (things) to the event. For example, while he will still pledge to be the \u201cDefender of the Faith\u201d, it has been planned to add other words to the oath to reflect the ethnic diversity in Britain and the many different religions that are practiced. Furthermore, only a minority of MPs and peers have been invited to the ceremony, instead over 1,250 volunteers and young people have bene invited as well as representatives from Charles\u2019 many charity affiliations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/content\/dam\/royal-family\/2023\/04\/05\/TELEMMGLPICT000331209477_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqqVzuuqpFlyLIwiB6NTmJwfSVWeZ_vEN7c6bHu2jJnT8.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"757\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 8<sup>th<\/sup> of May, the country will also celebrate an extra bank holiday to mark the coronation. On this day, the public will be encouraged to volunteer and join projects in their local communities as part of the Big Help Out.
