Also called Maulud Nabi in Malaysia, the day is commonly marked by religious lectures and readings of the Quran.<\/p>\n<p>Muhammad\u2019s birth was approximately in the year 570 (in the Gregorian Calendar). His uncle raised him after both the boy\u2019s parents died while he was very young. Prophet Muhammad learned the trades of the merchant and of shepherding.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3547 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/culturalcalendar\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/70\/2024\/06\/muhammad-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He began to preach around the age of 40. Eventually, he and his followers, numbering around ten thousand, took control of Mecca.
