Then, closer the time, you will then be sent more information, a Zoom link and the readings (specifically for this session, they will only consist of a few YouTube videos and images).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When you think of Christmas romance, Disney films, and princes and princesses, you may expect fairy-tale-like heteronormative narratives of lo<\/span>ve. You wouldn\u2019t be far off the mark: Charlotte and Evvie will discuss such <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">normativ<\/span>e patriarchal voices and their\u00a0restrictions on gender in terms of plot and costume. But as Lucy and Katrina will show, there exist other, newer and less conventional representations of love. The four presentations in this session are in dialogue with each other, and with the larger context of dominant and subversive streams in popular romance and popular film.
