This academic year, the sessions will in the format of an open\u00a0discussion, with no preparation is needed, so feel free to just come along and add something to our conversation!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Some examples of time-travel romances:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PFFKjptRr7Y\">Outlander Series<\/a>&nbsp;by Diana Gabaldon (books and TV series)<\/li><li>One Last Stop by Casey McQuistion (book)<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3_8WZxHScMk\">Time Traveller\u2019s Wife<\/a>&nbsp;by Lauren Weisberger (book and film)<\/li><li>My Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devereux (book)<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=T7A810duHvw\">About Time<\/a>&nbsp;(film)<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Izjns3b0Izk\">Lost in Austen<\/a>&nbsp;(TV series)<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lFJywpD2PU4\">Kate &amp; Leopold<\/a>&nbsp;(film)<\/li><li>Transcendence by Shay Savage (book)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We&#8217;ll be discussing topics like:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What\u2019s the appeal of the time-travel romance?<\/li><li>Is the \u2018time travel\u2019 element a trope or a distinct sub-genre of romance?<\/li><li>Why do we think these texts have declined in popularity?<\/li><li>How are time travel romances constricted by race, gender and sexuality?<\/li><li>How does the time-travel element overlap or inform the romantic elements of the book\/film?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And more!
