{"id":354,"date":"2019-07-02T23:36:45","date_gmt":"2019-07-02T22:36:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/englitpostgrad\/?p=354"},"modified":"2019-07-09T21:56:48","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T20:56:48","slug":"rebekah-sheldon-form-matter-chora-july-9th-515pm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/englitpostgrad\/2019\/07\/02\/rebekah-sheldon-form-matter-chora-july-9th-515pm\/","title":{"rendered":"Rebekah Sheldon Form\/Matter\/Chora &#8211; July 9th 5:15pm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the final session of our six week schedule we will be reading Rebekah Sheldon&#8217;s <strong>&#8216;Form\/Matter\/Chora: Object-Oriented Ontology and Feminist New Materialism&#8217;<\/strong> from the <em>Nonhuman Turn. <\/em>This session hopes to tie up some of the themes explored over the course of the previous weeks by engaging with Sheldon&#8217;s exploration of a &#8216;newly emergent realism in the humanities&#8217;. Particularly Sheldon regards both Object-Oriented Ontology and New Materialism and their respective critiques of representation. Sheldon, rather than seeing these two fields as alike, sees the potential crossover as a missaprehension.
