The All Red Line was a system of electrical telegraphs that linked much of the British Empire, launched in 1902. The British Empire was commonly coloured red or pink on political maps, leading to this informal name. This map is from The All Red Line – The Annals and Aims of the Pacific Cable Project (1903).
