Student Mobile App Competition 2015-2016 Winners Announced

The Award and Demo Ceremony for the Student Mobile App Competition was successfully carried on 18th March 2016. Our finalists have inspired us with their app designs and prototypes.Career Networks provided a great support on the day and interviewed our finalists for their SMAC experiences. External sponsors from IBM, Deutsche Bank and Whitbread came as judges to gave their insights and sponsored various awards for the winners.

Winners of the Student Mobile App Competition 2015-2016 are as following:

Best prototype winner: UK-PBC Risk Score Calculator app developed by Gwilym James Webb from Immunology, prize awarded with Amazon voucher.

Best design winner: Glocal app developed by Sam Welch from Biosciences, prize awarded with Amazon voucher and Deutsche training bootcamp. [Presentation]

People’s Choice App: mI Doctor – Diabetes app developed by Rakesh Mistry  from Medicine, prize awarded with Amazon Voucher. [Presentation]

Overall winner: PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) app developed by Christopher Hill from Computer Science, prize awarded with technical placement. [Presentation]

Overall Winner: Talkfest app developed by Federico Stillitano and Victoria Kuntermann from Liberal Arts, prize awarded with ITIC placement. [Presentation]

Commendation: QR Vision app developed by Fillipo Galli from Computer Science, prize awarded with Deutsche training bootcamp. [Presentation]

Commendation: PoliticALL app developed by Louis Holliday from Geography & Earth Sciences and Elizabeth Rowland from Arts and Law, prize awarded with Deutsche training bootcamp. [Presentation]
