{"id":209,"date":"2016-04-25T11:51:24","date_gmt":"2016-04-25T10:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/itinnovation\/?p=209"},"modified":"2018-05-25T11:52:15","modified_gmt":"2018-05-25T10:52:15","slug":"the-lapworth-museum-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.bham.ac.uk\/itinnovation\/2016\/04\/25\/the-lapworth-museum-application\/","title":{"rendered":"The Lapworth museum application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lapworth Museum App is a collaboration between the \u00a0<a class=\"sys_16\" href=\"https:\/\/intranet.birmingham.ac.uk\/it\/innovation\/index.aspx\">IT Innovation Centre<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\"sys_16\" title=\"Lapworth Museum of Geology \" href=\"http:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/facilities\/lapworth-museum\/index.aspx\">the Lapworth Museum of Geology<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0<a class=\"sys_16\" title=\"http:\/\/www.bham.ac.uk\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bham.ac.uk\/\">the University of Birmingham.\u00a0<\/a>The app was created by 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0year Computer Science student Adedayo Omosanya, winner of the Student Mobile App Competition 2015.\u00a0<a class=\"sys_16\" href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/lapworth\/id1100161572?ls=1&amp;mt=8\">[Download Link]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Lapworth Museum App includes the following features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Guided Tours to the Museum:<\/b>\u00a0 Visitors can follow up to four different routes as part of the guided visit to the Museum.<\/li>\n<li><b>Collections:<\/b>\u00a0The Lapworth Museum contains in excess of 250,000 specimens, for display purposes these have been grouped in 4 collections.
