However, most of them are still only using the traditional\u00a0computer input interface \u2013 keyboard and mouse, more importantly is that all the devices can only<br \/>\nsupport one user at a time, which create a barrier for group brainstorming and thus limits the mind\u00a0mapping productivity.<\/p>\n<p>With the Microsoft PixelSense table coming to the market, a new model of mind mapping software\u00a0is possible \u2013 with natural user interface, concurrent users support and 3D modelling and viewing.<br \/>\nThis document is to investigate and compare the current mind mapping software, and to propose a\u00a0new brain storming software model with natural user interface, concurrent users support and 3D\u00a0modelling built on Microsoft PixelSense Table.<\/p>\n<p>The role of brainstorming software in Education and open learning environment is:<br \/>\n\u2022 To develop the collaborative learning skills;<br \/>\n\u2022 To encourage creative problem solving;<br \/>\n\u2022 To optimize learning across disciplines;<br \/>\n\u2022 To facilitate the development of independent thinking skills;<\/p>\n<p>Brainstorming software features may include the following:<br \/>\n\u2022 Concurrent users support in one brainstorming session;<br \/>\n\u2022 Brainstorming result can be seamlessly transferred to other device including PC, mobile\u00a0phones and tablets;<br \/>\n\u2022 Brainstorming result can be imported into other mind mapping software for further detail\u00a0work;<br \/>\n\u2022 Brainstorming results can be modelled in 3D views.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.birmingham.ac.uk\/it\/innovation\/documents\/public\/Brainstorming-Software-Scoping.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read the full report<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are many kinds of mind mapping software currently on the market, from big company\u00a0development to open source software.
