IT Services Health and Wellbeing: Be Active, with lunchtime walks!

Published: Posted on

We’re supporting Workplace Wellbeing’s “Five Ways to Wellbeing” – Be Active, Take Notice, Learn, Connect and Give.

As a starting point, we’re focusing on “Be Active”. You may have seen our invitations to join lunchtime walks over the last few weeks. We’ve now introduced a new Mailing List – ITS-Wellbeing@lists.bham.ac.uk – to promote these walks and other wellbeing events. You can join the list by emailing Lucy Turner.

We’ll be keeping you informed about our activities with blog articles and by email. You can also join our new Facebook group – we’ll be holding events and fun competitions, discussions and polls – join the group and get involved today!

We’d like to hear your ideas!

We will be focusing on each of the Five Ways in turn, with activities for all to join in with. If you have any ideas for activities or events that you’d like to share, contact ITS-Voice – our new feedback channel.

What are the “Five Ways to Wellbeing”?

The Five Ways to Wellbeing are a set of evidence-based actions introduced by the New Economics Foundation – the principles and advice can be adopted to help you to improve both your physical and mental health. The concepts aim to promote your wellbeing by suggesting simple activities that can be carried out in your everyday life.

You can find out more by visiting HR’s Wellbeing intranet pages.
