Charlotte Bendall
Charlotte has been a Lecturer at the University of Birmingham for nearly four years, and previously held a Lectureship at the University of Essex. She is also qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales. Charlotte specialises in various aspects of family law; whilst her doctoral research focused on civil partnership dissolution, she now works on various other projects considering non-normative ways of ‘doing’ family.
Gemma Mitchell
Gemma has been a Lecturer at the University of East Anglia since 2016, after holding a position at the University of Birmingham. Gemma’s research focuses upon the reconciliation of paid work and caring responsibilities. Her PhD was entitled ‘Valuing Caring Relationships in UK Labour Law’. Since graduating, she has written articles on the UK family-friendly legislation, shared parental leave and foster carers’ claims to be recognised as workers.
