Every year the Midlands Eighteenth Century Centre’s annual workshop alternates between us here at Birmingham and our good friends at Warwick. In 2022, we experimented with a new, more open format. Last year, the workshop was attached to an international conference on sociability at Warwick. This year, we’re doing something similar and joining the workshop with our own big conference: Nature and Environment in Early Modern Worlds. The MECRN workshop will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 25th June, 1pm-5pm, on Birmingham’s main Edgbaston campus.
As in previous years, we’ll be celebrating new publications from the region and inviting colleagues at all stages in their academic careers to discuss the excitement and challenges of eighteenth-century studies research in the midlands. We invite the presentation of ten-minute papers, either on a recent publication or a work-in-progress.
