Kanimozhi’s Sekar, (MBA, 2024) completed a B-Experienced Internship with Buckt as an Operations Intern. She shares her 5 reasons to apply for a B-Experienced Internship as a graduate.
- Getting first hand experience of working closely with a CEO! Whilst at Buckt, I had direct and regular interactions with Dan, the CEO. Not only did he take the time to talk me through the business, it’s processes and challenges but also shared his hugely valuable insights and advice around navigating starting a business as this was a goal of mine, which I have now made a reality!
- Build your CV and gain experience in the UK market! I had over 14 years of experience before doing the internship but wanted an opportunity to boost my employability and apply myself in the UK market. My previous role was also very technical and so I wanted the chance to explore a more business-function based role.
- You get to contribute through real responsibility in the role! During my time at Buckt, I was given real responsibility, which I thoroughly enjoyed. For example, I conducted an in-depth analysis of proposed business concepts and carried out customer research as part of a validation period. I then provided detailed assessments and recommendations to the CEO, which were well received and subsequently presented to the board.
- Hone sought after skills very relevant to the current job market! The role boosted my deep analysis-based skills especially getting to apply to a real business scenario. It gave me insights into what is required in effectively running a business whilst reviewing processes and how these can be adapted. A skill that is so relevant for the current job market!
- You adapt very quickly! As this was a short internship, I had to get to know the business very quickly but that meant I could get right into the role. Being flexible and adaptable are characteristics that are sometimes hard to evidence in future interviews however with this experience, I had a tangible example!
