Invitation: The Stuart Hall PGR Reading Group
We are completing PhD researchers based at the University of Birmingham.
We are setting up an interdisciplinary PGR Reading Group to explore the work of Professor Stuart Hall, the visionary scholar who left an important legacy at the University of Birmingham and beyond.
We plan to meet on campus once a month to share and exchange readings and enjoy films that explore and are inspired by the themes of Hall’s body of work. Our first session (11th Oct) will include a screening and discussion of a lecture given by Hall on the influence of Marxism.
Dates:
- Wednesday 11th October, 1-3pm in Muirhead 417
- Wednesday 15th November, 1-3pm (room TBC)
- Wednesday 6th December, 1-3pm (room TBC)
Feel free to bring along your coffee/tea/lunch. We will provide biscuits!
This reading group has been designed for PGRs but ALL ARE WELCOME. If you are a masters student or member of staff, this invitation is for you too!
Contact us for access to the readings or to sign up to our mailing list at stuarthallreadinggroup@gmail.com.
We look forward to meeting you on 11th October!
