Following a suggestion that we should be marking Earth Day (22nd April) in a reading group session, the next topic is Ecocriticism, or ‘ the study of the relationship between literature and the physical environment’ (Glotfelty 1996: xix).
On Wednesday 23rd April from 5-7pm BST we will be reading and discussing [via Zoom] Chris Baratta’s ‘Introduction’ to the edited collection Environmentalism in the Realm of Science
Fiction and Fantasy Literature (2012) [linked].
(a secondary piece I found while searching for this session’s reading was ‘The Queer Time of Ecogothic‘ by Heather Ray Milligan, which looks fab, but just a bit off-topic.
