The next session of Pop Culture Theory Group will be Tuesday 8th July, from 5-7pm BST, in on campus and online.
Per a suggestion from Kit, we’ll be thinking about finding queerness in fantasy literature, for which we’ll be reading ‘Hiding in plain sight: The invisibility of queer fantasy’ by Stephen Kenneally, the first chapter of the edited book Gender and Sexuality in Contemporary Popular Fantasy (2016).
As always, if you don’t have time to get to it, please attend anyway! More people always lead to better discussions. The chapter is available on FindIt, but if you’re having trouble accessing it, or need the IRL/zoom room information, get in touch with Georgie Rowe (gxr697@student.bham.ac.uk).
