In Florence in 1348 the whole city hunkered down and fought its way day by day through the worst pandemic Europe at that time had ever experienced. Ten young Florentines – seven women and three men – referred to as the ‘Brigata’ decide to escape the Black Death and stay in a villa in the countryside outside Florence for two weeks. Each agrees to tell one story each day for ten days …
