World Mental Health Day 10 October

The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year. This year’s theme is ‘Mental Health is a universal human right’

The green ribbon is in the international symbol of mental health awareness.

Mental health problems exist in our lives, families, workplaces and communities, impacting everyone. We need to do as much as possible to prevent mental ill-health – as individuals and as a society.

World Mental Health Day is also a chance to talk about mental health in general – how we need to look after it and how important it is to talk about things and get help if you are struggling.

There are lots of ways you can get involved – whether you are an individual, a group or an organisation. Take a look at the Mental Health Foundation’s website https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk and at MIND’s site https://www.mind.org.uk/get-involved/world-mental-health-day/ there is lots of information, support and resources available.
