The first year of the MSc High Performance Sport has officially come to a close, and what a start it has been. When we launched the programme, our goal was to create an experience that truly prepares students for the demands of elite sport. Looking back now, it is clear that the first cohort set the bar high.

Recruitment exceeded expectations, and the group that joined us brought an outstanding mix of enthusiasm, professionalism, and curiosity. From the outset they embraced every challenge, and have already started to make their mark in the sector. Several students have gone straight into roles within professional clubs, national governing bodies, and high performance organisations. Seeing them move so seamlessly into these environments has been incredibly rewarding for everyone involved.

What stood out most during the first year was the culture that developed. The cohort worked together, supported each other, and built genuine professional networks. That sense of collaboration and shared purpose is what makes the MSc community so strong and something we are determined to keep building.

Now, just three weeks into the second year, the programme has already taken another step forward. We have expanded our partnerships with key organisations, added new guest lecturers from across the performance landscape, and welcomed another exceptional group of students. The programme continues to grow in reputation and reach, providing even more opportunities for applied learning and career development.

The foundations are firmly in place. Year two promises to be even better, and we are excited to see how our students and partners continue to shape the future of high performance sport.
