Earlier this month I had the chance to represent the School and Graduate School on a trip to China. We visited Shanghai, Guangzhou and Beijing and I was lucky enough to speak to prospective students and their parents, alumni and agents working in the region who help international students get places to study in the UK.

It was an amazing experience for so many reasons. It’s always great to see different cultures but to have opportunity to talk about the programmes we’ve developed over the last couple of years as well as our links was a really special one.

When you’re in it you sometimes lose perspective for how much development there’s been from an applied sports science point of view over the last few years at the university. To have it externally validated, in a sense, allowed some perspective to be taken.

It made me really proud to have some enthusiastic conversations with people who were so complimentary about what we’ve been doing, and what it means for students. Hopefully, we’ll see many of them joining us in September!
