Staff from End User Services and the IT Service Desk went out and about in June to help University staff who don’t normally have access to a campus computer log into Core Systems.
In order to assist staff access Core Systems for the first payroll run on 27 June, two things happened.
Firstly the IT Service Desk opened at 7am and invited cleaning staff to attend immediately after their early morning shifts so that they were helped with accessing their payslips online, this was really well received.
Secondly, a pop-up IT service desk, consisting of Tom Cave (EUS), Chris Hall and Jez Luckins (ITSD) was setup in Aston Webb, to mainly deal with password resets and remote access setups. It proved really popular, and the guys reported about 60 remote access setups in a day!
Given the popularity of this, the Service Desk are planning something similar again. Look out for the next pop-up desk near you!
