Responding to the needs of our students, the IT Service Desk recently changed the model of how the Laptop Clinic service works in order to offer more flexibility for students. The Laptop Clinic is a free service provided for all students at the University and offers diagnosis and repairs for configuration and software related issues.
The Laptop Clinic has been available to all students for a number of years but students have had to make an appointment. As a result the take up of the free service has been low. However, with the help of the Comms team who offered advice on how best to promote the service, the IT Service Desk are now running a largely drop in service with a sprinkle of bookable slots and they have seen a sharp uptake in usage of the service since the relaunch.
The Service Desk will continue to work with the comms team in order promote the service to the new cohort of students in September.
