The ServiceNow mobile app has been redeveloped in partnership with the ServiceNow developers and the service management team and is now available to download to your mobile device. The app’s functionality has been vastly improved and there is now a customised dashboard with a number of different views which have been tailored to suit the different roles across IT Services.
Which views are available?
The desktop support view is the most useful view for desktop support teams who are on roaming calls around campus. You can read more about the desktop support view in this KB article.
The service/technical manager view is useful for service owners, process managers and technical managers. It has push notifications but includes tiles to view P1s, changes, problems etc.
The senior manager view is for fore senior managers for out of hours support of P1s and MIs.
These views have been automatically set to best suit your role in IT Services. Other views are currently being considered and there are plans to develop a user version of the app in 2019.
How do I get the app?
The ServiceNow mobile app is available to download and install via the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The first time you open the app you will be required to set the instance to universityofbirmingham.service-now.com and then authenticate to the application using your University username and password.
