Module Focus: Health Economics (31.01.17)

Published: Posted on

This was the third year that the MPH Health Economics module ran alongside the Economic Evaluation module of the MSc Health Economics and Health Policy and MSc Health Economics and Econometrics.  Some sessions were specifically developed to introduce MPH students, and students of Genomic Medicine, to key concepts in health economic evaluation and healthcare priority setting.

The other sessions were shared between the two modules, and involved group and practical exercises to help students discuss and understand key concepts and methods in health economics.  These exercises are always very well received by the students, and we are glad that you found them so interesting.

We also introduced new lectures on the measurement and valuation of broader health and wellbeing outcomes that are pertinent to the public health context, and we are committed to enhancing the module in line with advancements in the use of health economics in the contexts of public health and genomic medicine.

Thank you for all your positive feedback and constructive recommendations.  Thank you also for sharing and debating ideas and for being so passionate about health economics.
