Recap: MPH/MHRM  Dissertation Poster Event (September 2017)

Published: Posted on

The very first poster presentation session for the MPH/MHRM programmes was held on 5th September 2017. Students displayed a poster detailing key features of their dissertation research. The session enabled students to see the work done by their fellow students and to also socialise over a drink and cake. It was the last formal gathering of the cohort finishing their studies this year and it was clear that many firm friendships have been made. Staff from the programmes and the Institute of Applied Health Research also attended. Staff were particularly impressed by the effort put into the posters, the wide range of topics covered and the enthusiasm of students for their work.

There were two prizes awarded for the best posters – one selected by students and one selected by staff. The student prize was awarded to ABDULRAHMAN ALMOHAISEN for his poster on “Epidemiology and mortality of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: A UK primary care database analysis”. The staff prize was awarded to REBECCA PARKE for her poster on “Combined hormonal contraceptives and the risk of venous thromboembolism among obese women in the UK: A case control study”. The session was such a success it will be incorporated into the programmes for future years.
