Page Breaks is back for Autumn 2023. We’ll be meeting from October onwards – check back here for more details soon!
On Tuesday 11th October, we’ll discuss villains and anti-heroes in literature and pop culture, thinking especially about fandom and “loveable” villains.
On Tuesday 4th October, we’ll discuss this change of seasons in literature, sharing notes on autumnal imagery in works we’ve enjoyed (or disliked!).
This week, we’ll reflect on the appeal of poetry in times of conflict, thinking about how and why people have turned to verse in the context of warfare.
For our first Page Breaks session of the new year, we’ll consider an aspect of book publishing we all encounter as readers: the author photo. Join us to discuss the triumphs and troubles of choosing a public image, and to reflect on equivalents in other areas of academia.
