Fantastic response to Christmas shoebox appeal

We received a huge response to the St Basils’ Christmas shoebox appeal, with staff from IT Services donating an amazing 57 shoeboxes to the homeless charity. This surpassed the  total from the year before when we collected 37 shoebox gifts and is testament to the generosity and goodwill of staff in IT Services.

On 18 December, shoebox appeal organisers Jane Adams and Mat Butcher delivered the Christmas presents to staff at Grosvenor Court in Aston who were overwhelmed with the generosity and passed on a huge thanks to everyone that donated. Centre Manager, Emma Gardner  was overjoyed and said, “Can I just say a big thank you to all the IT services department, the shoe boxes donations are packed with love and care.”

Staff at St Basils handed out the presents to the vulnerable young people at the Centre in the week leading up to Christmas. For many of the young residents this would have been their first Christmas alone and away from home and knowing that there are people in the community that care about them can really make a difference to their lives.

And because of the wonderful generosity of IT Services staff there were even enough surplus gifts to be donated to the neighbouring homeless shelter which bought some much needed Christmas joy to some of the residents staying there over the festive period.

St Basils are always looking for help  and donations throughout the year  not just at Christmas. If you would like to get involved visit here for more information.
