Get up to speed with using New Core

New Core goes live on Monday, 3 June. From day one all staff will be required to carry out some basic profile tasks like checking your personal information is correct and adding your annual leave etc. It is therefore, really important that you have the knowledge required to be able to access and use the new system.

 

There will be several ways that you can access New Core once it goes live.

  • Desktop icon
  • URL
  • Signposted from other web-pages – intranet, Canvas and ServiceNow (where you can also report issues)

Accessing the system from off campus will need to be done via Remote Access.

Training materials

If you haven’t already visited the New Core training pages then it is important that you do so in order to familiarise yourself with the new system. The New Core Training Team have produced some excellent, easy to use eLearning material on Canvas. This is designed to support you across a number of role specific tasks and features and includes videos, interactive simulations and printable step-by-step guides.

May drop-in sessions 

The May New Core training schedule is now available on the intranet here. This month sees the launch of new tailored drop-in sessions including specific content for Principal Investigators, Budget Managers, and Heads of School in addition to the Employee, Line Manager, and Hiring Manager sessions. Each drop-in is one-hour long and there is no need to register to attend.
