The reality of working from home for an extended period may be setting in for some of you. Let’s face it: none of us are experts when it comes to living and working in isolation – or near isolation, where we only see members of our own family.
Supporting your mental health
We’ve found this handy video full of advice on how to support your mental health while working from home.
Join in with the sense of community provided by ITS Social in Teams (join code 32kxxwr); there are various channels for different activities or areas of interest, including Lunchtime Walks, Craft Club, Board Games, Computer Gaming and more. You can turn notifications off and just dip in when you feel like it.
If you feel like you are struggling, please speak to someone. Counselling is available to all University staff from Workplace Wellness, an external national provider. You can contact them on 0800 111 6387. There’s also a wealth of advice and information available on the Mind website.
New Welfare channel in Teams
There’s now a new “Welfare” channel in IT Services Collaboration Space in Teams. This space will be used to share information on how to look after you wellbeing whilst working from home. The first post, from Tara Lamplough, encourages you to check that your home office set-up is comfortable and in line with DSE guidelines.
