The latest New Core Meet the Team interview comes from Bryoney Johnson, the New Core Change and Communications Lead.
What is your role on New Core?
I am the Change and Communications Lead for New Core. The role involves leading on New Core communications and stakeholder engagement, including internal communications across New Core and extensive events, digital, and print communications to ensure that colleagues across the University are informed of, engaged with, and feedback on, New Core developments. I also head up the Programme’s Training Team and lead on Change Management activity.
What were you doing before joining New Core?
I’ve been at the University for six years in a range of College and Central roles, most recently as Alumni Relations Manager in the College of Arts and Law. Prior to joining UoB I worked in Marketing and Communications roles at the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, and Trinity Mirror Midlands.
What has been your focus over the past few weeks/months?
I’ve been visiting teams, departments, and Colleges across campus to present New Core updates and demos to staff all over the University, and to answer their questions on what the system will mean for them. I’ve also been writing the communications that will be sent out to ensure that everyone is prepared for the new system going live. I’ve been working closely with colleagues across Colleges and Professional Services to help them prepare for New Core launch.
What are you most looking forward to in the new system?
I’m looking forward to seeing the system ‘in action’ across campus and being used by colleagues for a wide range of activities to help them in their work. I also can’t wait to hear feedback from the users of the new system as they finally get to use something that we have all worked so hard to implement over the last few years!
