There was a huge response to the St Basils’ Christmas shoebox appeal, with staff from IT Services donating an amazing 37 shoeboxes to the homeless charity.
On Wednesday 21 December, shoebox appeal organiser Jane Hicks and Communications Officer Mat Butcher, delivered the Christmas presents to grateful staff at Carole Gething House in Small Heath who were overwhelmed with the generosity and passed on a huge thanks to everyone that donated.
Staff at St Basils plan to hand out the presents to the vulnerable young people at a Christmas party this week. For many of the young residents this will be their first Christmas away from home and many have no family or friends to share the festive season with. Knowing that there are people in the community that care about them really makes a difference to their lives.
