IT Services comms process and guidance

Published: Posted on

It is very much business as usual in the IT Communications team and we will endeavour to deal with all requests as quickly as possible but it would be useful if everyone was clear on the process and the required style and format for messages as this will help speed things up.

If you would like to request comms, then you will need to submit an internal communications request form (ITS staff only) or an external communications request (wider University) to the ITS Communications team.

For the time being these can be sent directly to Mat Butcher at m.butcher@bham.ac.uk.

Please include as much information about the message as possible when completing the form. Guidelines on the messaging style and format and any essential information that needs to be included can be found in the ITS Communications Document Library on the CX and Communications SharePoint site which is available at https://collaborate.bham.ac.uk/it/cust-exp/SitePages/Home.aspx.

Please be aware that external communications are not normally sent out by the ITS Comms team if there is no end user impact to the work, or if the work only affects a small or specific group of people e.g. users in one building/College. In the event of the latter, the relevant business owner or College IT Manager in that area should be contacted to cascade the information using the local communications channels.
