New Core phases combine

Published: Posted on

The Programme team are pleased to confirm that they will be delivering your new system on a single launch date rather than in a phased approach. This means you will be able to access core HR, Payroll, and Finance functionality from the first day of New Core launch; from booking annual leave to raising orders and expense claims.

The team have been working closely with colleagues across HR and Payroll, Finance, and the wider University  on preparing the new system. This close collaborative working has not only ensured that Phase 1a Core HR will be completed to schedule, but also that Phase 2a Core Finance elements will be complete ahead of their proposed launch date of April 2019. This has allowed the Programme team to confirm a new delivery plan that will see all elements of Phases 1a and 2a of New Core launch at the same time in February 2019.

This will ensure that you have access to the most robust and useful information that you need when accessing the new system including:

  • Increased system functionality and reporting available from ‘day one’
  • No ‘interphase’ period will reduce duplicated work between new and old systems
  • More time for testing and parallel runs ahead of system launch
  • Training will be provided to colleagues in a single comprehensive package

The following functionality will be available to all staff from February 2019:

  • Payroll
  • Time and Attendance
  • Recruitment
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • HR
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Cash Management
  • Purchase Ordering
  • Research & Projects Accounting
  • Research Grant Management
  • Expenses
  • Tax

Additional functionality will also be provided in ‘b-phases’ of the Programme which will launch later in 2019. This will provide access to a range of new system features including inventory, performance and learning management, and fixed assets.
