Arts & Science Workshops on Women’s Metabolic Health

In collaboration with the MRC Laboratory of Medical Science (LMS), Dr Caroline Gillett from University of Birmingham, has led on a Wellcome funded public engagement project bringing together diverse scientists, artists and people with lived experience of women’s metabolic health conditions, with a specific focus on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus.

Two workshops have very recently taken place in London and Birmingham this December.

Cadence Ong, an undergraduate from Imperial College, has also been supporting the project as part of her final year industry placement with the LMS Communications team and under supervision from Dr Gillett.

Workshops received lots of positive feedback and a short film about the project is currently under preparation. Furthermore, the co-developed artworks will be on display in London on the 30th January, with plans to also exhibit in Birmingham at a later stage.
