Your chance to shape funding into national AI and HPC infrastructure

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) are seeking members of the researcher community using AI to provide their expertise and experience to help shape the UK’s future AI compute infrastructure.

Below is the letter inviting contributions:

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, DSIT) has contracted Technopolis and London Economics, established independent research organisations with experience in national-scale evaluations, to undertake a study that seeks to quantify UK demand for High Performance Compute for AI.

Researchers and AI practitioners like you are at the forefront of the UK’s AI ecosystem. As active users of HPC for AI, your insight is essential to ensure future government policies are evidence-based and designed around real user needs. Your responses will directly shape how government invests in critical compute infrastructure over the coming years.

As part of the study, Technopolis will seek to engage with the AI community (academia, industry, public sector) through a survey.

The survey covers both quantitative and qualitative questions, including:

  • Current compute requirements and the types of workflows AI HPC is used for
  • How researchers currently access HPC for AI and related compute resources
  • How advanced compute for AI requirements are likely to change in the future

The survey should take around 20 minutes to complete and can be found via the link here: https://www.research.net/r/AIcomputedemand
