We’re pleased to announce that the Advanced Research Computing team web pages have moved to a new SharePoint site, available to University staff and postgraduate researchers (PGRs).
Moving to SharePoint has given us a great opportunity to review and streamline our content. As a team, we’ve worked together to make information easier to find, reduce duplication and ensure the guidance we provide is clear and up to date.
The site brings together information about our services and support, including:
- BEAR Services & Infrastructure: Guidance on our supercomputer, BlueBEAR, and large-scale data storage on the Research Data Store (RDS).
- Training & Skill Building: Information on upcoming courses, learning materials, and how to book a place.
- Research Software Support: Assistance with software engineering, computational tools, and best practices.
- Drop-in Sessions: Schedule details on when and where to get direct 1:1 expert help from our team.
- Community & Networking: Opportunities to connect with peers through our Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
- User Guides & FAQs: Practical documentation to help you get up and running quickly.

This has very much been a team effort, from reviewing existing material to reorganising and refreshing content. We hope the new site makes it easier to find the support and information you need. Take a look and explore our new home!
