1 July, City-REDI hosted a meeting with the Innovate UK’s “Contracts for Innovation Community of Practitioners” at the Exchange. This is in relation to City-REDI’s work as part of the Innovation Procurement Empowerment Centre (IPEC) Research, supported by the Connected Catapult Centre.
1 July, Birmingham Anchor Institutions – Rebecca Riley attended on behalf of the university of review planning for the Leaders forum later in the year and review collaborative actions.
2 July, Meeting with Centre for Local Economic Strategies and Ralph Hall, Professor of Urban Affairs and Planning and Director of the School of Public and International Affairs at Virginia Tech University in the US, as well as colleagues at the Universities of Shady Grove in Maryland. To look at the civic impact of universities and different US models and comparison with UK.
2 July, Rebecca Riley met with DLUHC to review a paper and recommendations written about data and the mayoral combined authorities, barriers and challenges and how legislation is required to change.
On 10 July, Anne Green attended the Final Business Commission West Midlands Report launch in the Churchill Room at the House of Commons hosted by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce. Anne participated in a panel and referred to role as an Advisory Panel Member for the Report.
